Nick Hewer has spoken about the upcoming ninth series of The Apprentice.
The 69-year-old Countdown host, who sits on The Apprentice judging panel with Lord Sugar, claims that he wouldn't have been a good contestant on the reality show.
Speaking to The Mirror, Hewer said: "It does require a surfeit of bravado in order to get involved in the first place.
"At their age I'd have run for the hills - I'd have been no good at all."
Hewer also revealed that the show's form won't change for the new series, saying: "The guys who came up with the format have got to be congratulated. There's certainly a little bit of magic in there."
When asked what he makes of this year's contestants, he added: "I'm staggered by the contestants' self-confidence."
The Apprentice returns on Tuesday, May 7 at 9pm on BBC One
