Radió na Gaeltachta presenter Eibhlín Ní Chonghaile has been named Radio Presenter of the Year at the Celtic Media Festival.

Eibhlín, who presents the two-hour magazine programme Iris Aniar on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta Monday to Friday 9.10-10.55am, was presented with the Bronze Torque today at the Celtic Media Festival in Swansea.

Eibhlín, from Casla in Connemara, has previously worked for Sky News Ireland, Nuacht RTÉ and Nuacht TG4 before joining Raidió na Gaeltachta in 2006. There, she initially worked in the newsroom and presented the station’s two main news programmes, Nuacht a hAon and Adhmhaidin.

Since 2009, she has been presenting her magazine programme focused on the west of Ireland that deals with a wide variety of topics, from current affairs driven items to lighter entertainment and lifestyle features.

Eibhlín also won Presenter of the Year at the Gradaim Chumarsáide an Oireachtais Irish-language media awards in 2011.
As well as her work in news, Eibhlín has worked on different TV shows, including an award-winning documentary on Honduras, and TG4 dating show Eochair an Ghrá.
