It’s been reported that zombie drama The Walking Dead has cast Lawrence Gilliard Jr in its fourth season.
According to International Digital Times Gilliard Jr - best known for playing D'Angelo Barksdale on The Wire - is in talks for the role of Roy Stark. A former army medic, Stark will be a series regular in the zombie drama's next run.
Gilliard Jr's past TV work includes roles on Friday Night Lights, Lie to Me and Southland, while film credits include The Waterboy, Gangs of New York and The Machinist.
The 41-year-old's The Wire co-star Chad Coleman already appears on The Walking Dead as Tyreese.
Season four of The Walking Dead begins filming in May and is expected to start screening on both sides of the Atlantic by late 2013.
