It has been announced that David Marciano who plays Virgil in Homeland will not be returning as a major character in season 3 of the drama.
Marciano, who played the surveillance expert who worked with Carrie (Claire Danes), may return occasionally in a guest starring capacity.
The actor is currently developing a cable prison drama with his writing partner Steven Pickman, reports Digital Spy.
It had previously been announced that Diego Klattenhoff will also not be returning as a series regular. He played Nicholas Brody’s (Damien Lewis) former friend Mike Faber.
Homeland returns to screens in the US in late September.
