Principal photography has begun in Co Fermanagh on Miss Julie, the new period drama starring Colin Farrell, Jessica Chastain and Samantha Morton.

Directed by Liv Ullman and adapted from the August Strindberg play of the same name, Miss Julie stars Chastain as the titular character, the daughter of a count, with Farrell playing the role of a servant named Jean who she finds herself attracted to.

Morton plays the house cook, Christine.

The story takes place over a night in 1874 and tackles topics such as sexuality, class and gender.

Miss Julie is an Irish-British-Norwegian-French co-production and has received funding from Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board.

All post-production on the film will take place at Windmill Lane in Dublin.
