Skyfall has been honoured with the Best Film gong at the 2013 Jameson Empire Awards.
Sam Mendes, who helmed the 23rd James Bond instalment, beat out tough competition from Peter Jackson, Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan and JJ Abrams to win the Best Director award.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey also took home two awards yesterday, winning the Best Science Fiction/Fantasy category and Best Actor award for the film's star Martin Freeman.
Jennifer Lawrence was crowned Best Actress for her performance in The Hunger Games, while Samantha Barks and Tom Holland were names Best Female Newcomer and Best Male Newcomer for their roles in Les Misérables and The Impossible respectively.

Daniel Radcliffe picked up the Empire Hero Award, while Helen Mirren was named an Empire Legend.
