Robert Duvall has been cast in The Judge.
The actor will star alongside Robert Downey Jr in the new comedy-drama, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film, which will be helmed by The Change-Up director David Dobkin, sees Downey Jr take on the role of a successful attorney who returns home to attend the funeral of his murdered mother.
His father, who will be played by Duvall, is the town judge and the only suspect in the crime.
The attorney sets out to discover the truth about his mother's death and reconnects with the family he walked away from years before.
Jack Nicholson was previously pegged to take on the role of the father in The Judge.
Duvall was most recently seen alongside Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher, and will next star in Emilio Aragon's A Night in Old Mexico.
