Barbra Streisand is speculated to return to directing after 17 years following a deal with production company Aldamisa International.

Both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter announced the deal, with Nadine de Barros, President of international sales and acquisitions at Aldamisa, adding "We are thrilled to provide underwriting for a filmmaker of [Streisand's] vision, stature and accomplishment".

Though details are limited, the actress and singer is said to be choosing between several projects.

The actress' last picture to direct was The Mirror Has Two Faces in 1996, in which she also starred alongside Jeff Bridges. Streisand also directed 1983's Yentl and The Prince of Tides in 1991.

Streisand's most recent acting role was in 2012's The Guilt Trip, alongside Seth Rogan.
