Former EastEnders' star Dean Gaffney is reported to be recovering well in hospital following his recent car crash.

Katie Price has been in contact with him and announced in her latest column in The Sun that her friend is "on the mend".

Gaffney - who played Robbie Jackson on EastEnders - was involved in a serious car crash on January 30th in Derby.

Price wrote in her column: "My friend Dean Gaffney has texted me to say he is on the mend after suffering head injuries in a car crash.

"I'm so relieved to hear it, Dean," she added. "Keep well and keep going."

Gaffney is reported to have had reconstructive surgery on his skull after his Mini Cooper crashed into a steel barrier.

He was driving home after performing in a stage production of Agatha Christie's A Murder Is Announced at the Derby Theatre.
