Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine believes that a Free Deirdre-style campaign will happen for Tyrone Dobbs.
Back in the 1990s, fans of the British soap started a campaign to free the wrongfully imprisoned Deirdre Rachid - played by Corrie stalwart Anne Kirkbride.
Should the innocent Tyrone (Alan Halsall) be found guilty of domestic violence, McAlpine believes Corrie fans may devise a similar scheme to get him out of jail.
She told What's on TV: "It's one of those great stories where the viewer also knows he's innocent. Maybe there will be a 'Free Tyrone' campaign!"
