As RAW hits the midway mark TEN caught up with Damon Gameau, who plays the part of head chef Geoff on the show, to get the inside scoop on his return to the popular culinary drama.

Since Pavel's (Kryštof Hádek) tragic death in Season 4, Geoff has gone walkabout in Australia, but his character is set to make a welcome return to the kitchen in the upcoming episode.

Speaking about his return, Damon said: "Geoff is still grieving when we see him. He’s been on an emotional rollercoaster and is mentally worn out. But he’s gradually starting to come to terms with what has happened. He’s definitely happy to be back working in RAW. He really goes on a journey in this series. I think viewers will enjoy seeing how his character develops and grows."

Geoff is back!

With Geoff's replacement Max (Cristian Solimeno) still lurking about the kitchen, it looks like there may be some tense moments between the pair.

Damon added: "They are both really strong-minded characters, so naturally there are going to be a few moments when they clash. Cristian is a lovely guy and out of character we get on really well. Fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming episodes."

What will Geoff make of his replacement Max?

While Damon further admitted that Fiona (Aisling O'Sullivan) is delighted to see Geoff back running the kitchen and restoring order to RAW, he explained that his character is disappointed that Jojo isn't there when he gets back.

He said: "He definitely misses Jojo. If Geoff wasn’t gay, Jojo would be his ideal women. He has a soft spot for her and they have a great connection. They understand each other."

When asked what he made of his time spent in Ireland, the Australian actor, added: "I love Ireland. You can’t keep me away. I come over every year. I must have seen every little town and village in Ireland at this stage. I love walking down Grafton Street and taking in all of the sights. It’s a beautiful place and I look forward to coming back."

You can catch RAW on RTÉ One Sunday, January 28 at 9:30pm.
