It has been announced that Spice Girls singer Geri Halliwell has joined Brian Blessed and Brenda Blethyn in the cast of Henry Hugglemonster, the new Disney Junior preschool animated series which is produced by Irish company Brown Bag Films.

Developed from Irish author Niamh Sharkey's series of books I'm a Happy Hugglewug, Henry Hugglemonster debuts on Disney Junior on Friday February 8 at 5:50pm and follows the adventures of Henry, "the middle child in a happy, madcap close-knit monster family".

Halliwell voices Isabella Roarsome, described as "a spirited and popular monster popstar".

Commenting, she said: "Being involved in Henry Hugglemonster has been such a joy. The show has a truly positive message, teaching kids to be themselves and reminding them of the importance of family values.

"What's more, it's been so lovely to share this experience with my own daughter, who helped me learn the songs for my role as Isabella!"

Henry Hugglemonster, which will be shown in over 150 countries, is the second Brown Bag production for Disney Junior, and follows recent hit Doc McStuffins.
