The producers of Channel 5’s Celebrity Big Brother have moved to explain why one of their cast members has been secretly exiting the show this season saying it was agreed before the show started.
It emerged yesterday that X Factor singer Rylan Clark has been dipping out of the show in order to rehearse for the X Factor tour which starts the day after the CBB final.
The programme makers had been trying to keep his absences under wraps but former contestant actress Gillian Taylforth revealed that Clark had been regularly leaving the house for rehearsals during an interview on Channel 5’s The Wright Stuff yesterday.
A statement from the show said "It was agreed before Rylan entered the Big Brother house that he would be allowed to rehearse for his tour twice on-site with a choreographer.
"This was agreed on the strict understanding that he was not allowed to discuss events in the Big Brother house with anyone during such rehearsal periods.
"Rylan was escorted by a Big Brother producer at all times during rehearsal to ensure full compliance."
