Former Queen front man Freddie Mercury's Rolls Royce is to be auctioned this weekend.

The 1974 Silver Shadow was bought by Mercury's managing company Goose Productions Ltd back in 1979 for his personal use.

A letter in the car's file confirms it was bought for the rock legend and continued to be used by him until his death in November 1991.

The car was used for the premiere of the Queen musical We Will Rock You in 2002. It has the mileage of a "Sunday" car with just 62,000 miles on the clock.

Among other cars up for auction in the celebrity car sale is a green Ford Capri S which appeared in the BBC sitcom Only Fools And Horses.

The car, which is being sold exactly as it appeared in the show with fake tiger fur interior and pink aerials, is expected to fetch at least €30,000.

The cars are being auctioned by British firm Coys this Saturday January 12th as part of the Autosport International show at Birmingham's NEC.
