Acting legend Helen Mirren was honoured in Los Angeles yesterday with a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The 67-year-old British actress was joined at the event by screenwriter David Mamet, film director Jon Turteltaub as well as her husband Taylor Hackford. Mamet has just directed the actress in a HBO film about music producer Phil Spector which also stars Al Pacino.

Her star is located in front of the Pig N’Whistle which is one of the best known pubs on Hollywood Boulevard.

Mirren is currently starring in the film Hitchcock with Anthony Hopkins in which she plays the role of the film director’s wife Alma.

The actress is renowned for her work in film, television and the theatre and has won an Oscar for The Queen in 2007, four BAFTAs, three Golden Globes, four Emmy Awards and two Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Awards.
