Lewis star Kevin Whately has said that he is taking a break from the ITV police drama this year and that he may decide not to return.
The 61-year-old co-stars in the series with Laurence Fox which is a sequel to the very popular Inspector Morse series which Whately starred in with the late John Thaw.
He said the last episode of the new series which starts on January 7 does have a "resolution."
Speaking to The Sun he said "I told ITV to treat it like any other episode so that we may or may not come back. But ITV wanted a resolution. And so where I am is that I want 2013 off and so does Laurence."
He also added that "a couple" of Lewis episodes could be made in 2014.
