Lisa Riley could be set for a return to Emmerdale after her success on Strictly Come Dancing.

The actress may reprise her role of Mandy Dingle in the ITV soap, which she starred in from 1995 to 2001.

The Daily Star Sunday reports that new Emmerdale producer Kate Oates may offer Riley a deal to rejoin the cast.

A source told the newspaper: "Lisa has been a huge hit on Strictly so it's no great surprise Emmerdale bosses want her back.

"Mandy's ex-husband Paddy Kirk is having marriage problems so it makes sense to bring back Lisa."

However, another source said that the 36-year-old actress would have to think hard about making a soap comeback.

They said: "Lisa loved her time on Emmerdale but she's finally known for being Lisa Riley rather than Mandy Dingle.

"She wants to use her Strictly success to open new doors. Having said all that, she isn't stupid enough to rule out a return without at least discussing it."

Riley left Strictly Come Dancing in last night's semi-final.
