The former host of Have I Got News For You, Angus Deayton, is set to take on another acting role by appearing in BBC One’s Waterloo Road.
Digitalspy reports that Deayton is joining the long-running drama series as a world-weary language teacher called George Windsor.
The show was filmed in Rochdale for years but recently relocated to Scotland with filming now taking place in Greenock. The storyline saw some teachers and students from the school moving to Scotland to set up an independent school.
Deayton left Have I Got News For You back in 2002 after tabloid reports about his private life and have previously acting in One Foot In The Grave.
