Though he exited the competition in third place on Saturday night, Christopher Maloney was named the viewers' favourite act as he topped the voting figures almost every week.

The 34 year-old Liverpudlian received the highest percentage of votes consistently for the first seven weeks of the reality competition. Originally voted in as the wildcard act of the competition, in the first two weeks of the live shows, Maloney received over double the amount of votes any other act received.

Jahmene Douglas, who finished as runner-up in the competition last night, was just behind Maloney with the second highest number of votes for seven weeks.

From week eight of the competition, James Arthur topped the voting figures with almost double the votes any other act received for the final three weeks.

James Arthur was crowned the winner of the competition last night at the live final in Manchester, receiving just under 54% of the vote.

Xtra Factor presenters Caroline Flack and Olly Murs revealed the figures to the public during the spin-off show following the final. The judges' predictions from bootcamp were also revealed. With Louis Walsh and Dermot O'Leary backing Ella Henderson, Tulisa backing Lucy Spraggan, Gary predicting Kye Sones and Nicole correctly predicting James Arthur to win.
