It looks like Darcey Bussell is set to remain on the judging panel of Strictly Come Dancing for some time to come after signing a secret deal, according to a report.

The Sun reports that the former ballerina has secretly signed a two deal with the show. Bussell is reported to have insisted on the two year arrangement in the summer before moving her family from Australia to take part.

The ballerina took over the spot on the panel vacated by Alesha Dixon who signed with ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent earlier this year. She had previously appeared as part of the panel for some of the shows the first year that Alesha took part but failed to make an impact.

A source on the show is quoted as saying: "Her first outing divided people but she has grown into the role tremendously. The other judges love her as she knows her onions.

"And producers actually think she is better than Alesha."

The dancer has proved popular on the show this season alongside Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and Len Goodman and has tried to give the contestants constructive criticism. She has also often disagreed with her fellow judges and has argued her point.

The series has performed very strongly in the television ratings.
