Piers Morgan has found himself in a row on Twitter with the One Direction boys over David Beckham yesterday.
What started as a suggestion from Morgan that David Beckham should hang up his football boots forever ended with "Piers Morgan is smelly" trending on Twitter.
Harry Styles responded saying "Beckham is my hero" to Morgan’s initial tweet saying "No serious top flight team would sign Beckham for football reasons any more - he should retire gracefully."
Morgan responded by saying "Is that because he always runs in one direction?" at which point the other members of the band got involved which resulted in Morgan being bombarded with messages from One Direction fans.
Morgan seemed delighted with the spat and egged the band and the fans on saying "My Twitter feed is erupting like a volcano, and rather like @Harry_Styles @Real_Liam_Payne @Louis_Tomlinson - it ain't pretty."
He later boasted "11,000 new followers in an hour - only one winner in this war, Thanks guys.."
