It has been announced that Sean Penn is in talks to star in the action thriller Prone Gunman.
The Hollywood Reporter says the film is based on a Jean-Patrick Manchette novel which tells the story of an operative named Martin Terrier betrayed by the organisation he works for. Terrier is set to go on the run across Europe in the movie which is set to be produced by Silver Pictures. The film has potential to become a franchise.
Recently there has been a trend for older actors to head up action pictures with Liam Neeson’s Taken 1 & 2 scoring big at the box office internationally.
Penn will next been seen as gangster Mickey Cohen in the crime drama Ganster Squad which opens next January.
