Actor Clive Dunn has passed away at the age of 92.
The actor died in Portugal today (November 7) after suffering from complications following an operation earlier this week.
Dunn was best known for his role as Lance Corporal Jack Jones in classic sitcom Dad's Army.
He was famous for his catchphrases, "don't panic" and "permission to speak".
The show ran from 1968 to 1977 and Dunn featured in all nine series and a spin-off movie in 1971.
Dunn previously starred in a number of films before joining the show, including Good Morning Boys and Boys Will Be Boys.
One of the British actor's last TV roles was as Charlie 'Grandad' Quick in the sitcom Grandad which ran from 1979 to 1984. He effectively retired after the show ended.
He also recorded a number of songs, and he had a hit with the single Grandad in 1970, which was written by Herbie Flowers.
Dunn was born in London in 1920 and fought in the Second World War at the age of 20. He was captured by the Germans in Greece and subsequently held for four years as a prisoner in Austria.
He is survived by his wife Priscilla Morgan and two daughters, Jessica and Polly.
