Rod Stewart: one of three best men at Ronnie Wood's wedding

Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood has asked his old Faces band mate Rod Stewart to be best man at his wedding next year to theatre producer Sally Humphreys.

Stewart, who was in the Faces with Wood in the early 1970s before they both went on to greater fame – the former with a solo career and the latter with the Stones - is expected to make the speech at the ceremony in London.

A source close to Wood told The Mirror: “Ronnie might be nervous when Rod makes the speech – they have been in a lot of scrapes over the years so he will have a lot of stories to tell!”

Stewart will share his best man duties with Rolling Stone Keith Richards and one of Ronnie’s three sons – Tyrone, Jesse, or stepson Jamie - with the venue likely to be Old Marylebone Town Hall.

The Hall has a rich pedigree when it comes to rock 'n' roll weddings as it's where Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Liam Gallagher all tied the knot.
