Amanda Seyfried and Patrick Dempsey have signed up for the romantic comedy Wonderful Tonight.
They will play unexpected parents in the project, from director Christine Jeffs, Deadline reports.
Wonderful Tonight is about a one-night-stand that results in Seyfried's character getting pregnant, leading to the pair clashing over what they want from each other in the future.
J L Mills Goodloe will write the screenplay, with Martin Shafer and Liz Glotzer from Castle Rock Entertainment producing alongside Donna Roth and Susan Arnold.
Dempsey is best known for his role as Dr Derek Shepherd in Grey's Anatomy.
New Zealand film director Jeffs previous work's include 2003's Sylvia starring Daniel Craig and Gwyneth Paltrow and 2009's Sunshine Cleaning starring Amy Adams and Emily Blunt.
Seyfried will next been seen in the movie adaptation of Les Misérables.
