Jim Carrey has officially joined the cast of Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall.
Deadline reports that the actor will play the character of Colonel Stars in the comic book movie sequel.
Colonel Stars is a member of the crime-fighting team Justice Forever that is introduced in Mark Millar and John Romita Jr's follow-up comic book series.
Reprising their original roles for the sequel are Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloë Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Nicolas Cage.
Yancy Butler, Lyndsy Fonseca, Donald Faison, John Leguizamo, Lindy Booth and Andy Nyman have also joined the cast of the movie.
Kick-Ass 2 is set to be released in the summer of next year.
