Boardwalk Empire star Michael Pitt has been cast in The First.
The film tells the story of the Hollywood actress Mary Pickford, who starred in movies like Tess of the Storm Country and The Poor Little Rich Girl.
Pitt will play Pickford's first husband, Owen Moore, Deadline reports. Ryan Simpkins will portray a young Pickford, while Lily Rabe will play the actress in her adult years.
Rabe and Pitt, along with director Jennifer DeLia and producer Julie Pacino will host an opening party at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6.
The party will honour Pickford who was born in Toronto.
