Jack Whitehall's Bad Education has been given a second series by the BBC.

Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival on Thursday, BBC Three controller Zai Bennett, explained that the show will not end after the first season.

The sitcom, about a hopelessly incompetent school teacher played by Whitehall, managed to get BBC Three's highest ratings for a first episode of a comedy ever.

Mathew Horne plays the school's headmaster, with Sarah Solemani as the teacher that Whitehall's character pines after.

Bennett also confirmed that the Russell Kane-hosted Live at the Electric will get two more series.
