Seth MacFarlane has predicted a few more seasons of Family Guy before people get tired of the Griffin family.

Speaking to BBC Breakfast he said "It's not coming to an end, not yet.

"There are more to come. Right now there's no end in sight" he said when asked how many more seasons are planned.

"It's got another four or five years of life left. When people start getting sick of it we'll shut it down."

The show's creator and the voice of many of the characters on the show praised the European fans of the series. "You guys get a lot more of the jokes than in the States. A lot of it goes over [their]heads".

The show was first broadcast in 1999 and was cancelled after season three, but renewed a year later. Seth Green, Mila Kunis, Alex Borstein and Mike Henry voice many of the main characters of the animated series.

MacFarlane is currently in the early stages of producing a Family Guy movie, as well as being linked with a revival of the iconic animated series The Flinstones.
