Northern Irish actor Ciarán Hinds has been cast in Game of Thrones.
Hince will play the character of Mance Rayder, the King Beyond the Wall, in season three of the fantasty-drama series, reports Entertainment Weekly.
In the Song of Ice and Fire book series, Rayder broke his vows as a Night's Watch member and went to live with the wildlings, where he became their leader.
Although the character of Rayder has been mentioned in the first two series of Game of Thrones, he has yet to be seen on the series.
In the second season finale, undercover Night’s Watchman Jon Snow (Kit Harington) was being taken to meet Rayder.
Hinds previously starred on HBO's Rome as Julius Caesar and recently seen in the mini-series Political Animals.
He has also appeared in films such as Munich, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and John Carter.
Season three of Games of Thrones will air on March 31, 2013.
