What Richard Did, the new film from Garage and Adam & Paul director Lenny Abrahamson, is to receive its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month.
Written by Malcolm Campbell (Skins, Shameless) and starring Jack Reynor, Sam Keeley, Róisín Murphy, Lorraine Pilkington and Lars Mikkelsen, What Richard Did tells the story of Richard Karlsen, a Dublin school leaver with the world at his feet who "does something that destroys it all and shatters the lives of the people closest to him".
The film will be released in Ireland on October 5.
Director Abrahamson said he was "delighted to premiere What Richard Did at Toronto". "It's a great festival and an ideal launch for the film," he said.
Producer Ed Guiney added: "We are incredibly proud of Lenny Abrahamson's new film What Richard Did. I can’t think of a better way to launch it internationally than at the Toronto International Film Festival where it will have its world premiere ahead of its release in Ireland in October."
