Pete Doherty has confirmed that Carl Barat will join him in Paris where they will work on new material together.
Pete told the online show Hernu and Harris Unhinged, "I spoke to Carl yesterday and he's going to come out to Paris. Then maybe we'll go back out to Thailand together and do some writing."
Pete will return to Thailand to attend rehab and counselling for his ongoing drug addictions after being asked to leave The Cabin rehab clinic in Thailand for the good of the other patients.
The Libertines last reunited for the Reading and Leeds festivals in 2010 and since then there has been constant speculation about another reunion.
Carl added fuel to the rumours of another reunion via his Twitter account by saying: "Well what can I say? Is another reunion pushin it? I'm up for it...? I'm not joking, it may take a while. We'll see what happens... xx"
Of course the Libertines road has never run smoothly and the pair have talked about possible collaborations a lot over the last few years but it has yet to happen. Only time will tell but Pete's most recent statement is a good sign.
