Russell Brand is set to play Cupid in new self-produced comedy.
Variety reports that Warner Bros will develop the project from a pitch by Joe Nussbaum, who directed 2011 teen horror Prom.
The plot centres on a cynical Cupid (Brand) who is given the task of creating the ideal romance.
In addition to starring in the film, Brand will produce alongside his regular producing partner Nik Linnen.
