One Direction have totted up over 12 million sales in their first year.
The number includes album sales, single sales and DVD sales which totals to more than the combined sales of Arctic Monkeys, Noel Gallagher and Kasabian in the same time period.
Their debut single What Makes You Beautiful was sold five million times worldwide, with the group breaking America and selling three million singles there.
The album Up All Night which was released in September 2011, was a huge chart success and sold over a million copies in America alone. It reached number one in the charts in 16 countries worldwide.
Liam spoke on behalf of the band saying they were very humbled by the news, "We have an incredible team of people around us who have helped us achieve this. Above all we would like to thank our fans."
Syco and Sony Music presented the group with a plaque each to commemorate their outstanding first year.
