Carl Barat has announced he will be joining the London-based band Eyes On Film for the foreseeable future.
The former Libertines and Dirty Pretty Things frontman announced he will be joining Eyes On Film on guitar for a one-off show in London on August 16 but will continue playing with them for the foreseeable future.
Barat and Eyes On Film have the same management and a statement released read, "Barat will inevitably add to the scuzzy, filthy electro rock sound the band have honed and made their own, giving it a truly commercial, 21st century edge."
Barat tweeted the news as well saying, "So I'm gonna do a couple a gigs with this band @eyesonfilmuk Follow them, you'll see."
Last month Barat told NME that he might be joining forces with Pete Doherty again when he was finished his stint in rehab in Thailand saying, "I'm always hungry for something else. I'm working really hard on a new solo album. I spoke to Pete before he went to rehab in Thailand and there could be something happening."
He went on to say, "I'm always out with Pete. Just sometimes I'm out with Pete in a visible place and other times not. We had a good chat and we're both getting on fine. We're both doing different things, I'm sure at some point we'll pick up where we left off when it's needed."
Pete was discharged from rehab before completing treatment for the wellbeing of the other patients.
