Ronan Keating has admitted that he is still upset by the break-up of his 14-year marriage.

"I see myself as a failure. It's been devastating for the children," he told The Sun. "Nobody wants to go through a relationship and have kids and think it'll ever break up."

The Boyzone singer, who split from wife Yvonne in April, also said that he doesn't enjoy being single and that he feels somewhat distant from his three children, Jack, Marie and Ali.

He said: "We obviously don't have the closeness we used to have. That's the hardest thing to bear."

Keating’s marriage collapsed in 2010 when it emerged he was having an affair. In reference to his wife he said: "Yvonne and I drifted apart - it wasn't working anymore, sadly.

"I'm a free spirit for the first time in years, but I didn't want that," he added. "I liked being in a relationship."
