Two Irish make the Superstar cut

Last night viewers saw the final 11 contestants revealed in ITV's new reality competition Superstar, and two Irish men have made it to the live shows.

Jeff Anderson, a 21 year-old singer from Newtownards, Co. Down, and Niall Sheehy and Wicklow-born Niall Sheehy (31) have both made it to the live shows after sailing through the audition stages.

Anderson has previously starred in Jesus Christ Superstar in productions across Northern Ireland. He is currently a singer in the rock band Wanted Alive.

Sheehy, a Bray native, has previously starred in productions of Wicked on London's West End and currently works in London as an actor.

Sheehy tweeted to his fans last night 'Thanks for all the messages!!....ahem.....YAAAAAY, I'M IN THE FINAL TEN!!.....(I've wanted to tweet that for a little while now!) x' while Anderson tweeted a photo of himself and Sheehy, writing 'The two finalists from home! Tear it up time tomorrow! ?#itvsuperstar?'.

The lucky 11 will now compete during the live shows, in front of judges Andrew Lloyd Webber, Dawn French and Jason Donovan, to find the man for the lead role in Lloyd Webber's production of Jesus Christ Superstar.

Ten finalists were chosen, however one more was added in case anyone drops out of the show.

Superstar continues tonight on ITV 1 at 9pm.
