Dublin born Emmett Scanlan, who plays the part of Brendan Brady on Hollyoaks, is flying the flag for the Irish at this year's TV Choice Awards.
Emmett received a nomination in the Best Soap Actor category, while Hollyoaks is shortlisted in the Best Soap category along with Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale.
The list includes nods for ratings hit Call The Midwife, ITV1's Downton Abbey and a battle between Made In Chelsea and TOWIE in the Best Reality Show category.
