Husband and wife, Jay-Z and Beyoncé, were among the winners at the BET Awards last night in Los Angeles.
They are going to have to make a little more room on their mantle piece as last night, music's powerhouse couple both took home two awards each at the BET Awards.

Jay-Z picked up the gongs for Best Group and Video of the Year for his collabortation with Kanye West as The Throne.
On accepting the first award Kanye took the stage by himself and quipped that he wished Jay-Z was there to say; “say something politically correct for me", prompting the star to emerge and finish the speech.

And they hi-jinks continued as the pair accepted their second award, with Jay-Z interrupting West in a nod to his stage invasion at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, saying: "Excuse me, Kanye, I'm gonna let you continue, but…"

Beyoncé triumphed in both the Best Female R&B Artist and Video Director of the Year categories.
Chris Brown took home the award for Best Male R&B Artist, while Drake, who was not present at the ceremony, won the Best Male Hip-Hop Artist trophy.

Nicki Minaj picked up the Best Female Hip Hop Artist accolade and in her acceptance speech she paid tribute to "all the female rappers doing their thing, past, present and future".

Stars including Mariah Carey, Brandy, Monica and Chaka Khan also joined forces for an emotional tribute to Whitney Houston in which the late singer's mother Cissy also performed a rendition of Bridge Over Troubled Water.
