Hewer to present BBC farming show

Nick Hewer is set to broaden his television career again with another new series for BBC Two called The Farm Fixer.

The businessman and Apprentice star is set to help out struggling farmers on the new television series which starts next month. He will advise the owners of small family farms and bid to improve their businesses in the current tough economic climate.

Hewer, who is also presenting Countdown for Channel 4, said "The small family farm is the backbone of the UK countryside. I wanted to use everything I had learnt, over the past 40 years of business, to help them come through this difficult time."

Among the projects he will work on during the series are harvesting seaweed, brewing beer and entertaining cruise ship groups.

The Farm Fixer can be seen on BBC Two from July 9.
