After premiering this year at the SXSW Film Festival, Frankie Go Boom - the new comedy starring Chris O’Dowd, Ron Perlman, Chris Noth, Charlie Hunnam, Lizzy Caplan and Whitney Cummings - has been picked up for US distribution.

Deadline.com reports that the film, written and directed by Jordan Roberts, tells of the home movie humiliations Frank Bartlett (Hunnam) has endured at the hands of his older, substance-abusing brother Bruce (O'Dowd).

Despite becoming the unwitting star of an internet clip that millions have seen, Frank returns home for Bruce's graduation from rehab.

However, Bruce isn't done with filming his younger brother yet.

Gravitas Ventures and Variance Films have acquired US rights to the film, which will be released on video on demand in September and in cinemas in October.
