Rupert Friend has joined the cast of the Showtime series Homeland.
The British actor has signed on to be a regular in series two of the thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Friend will play Peter Quinn, a CIA analyst who oversees a critical operation in the series, which stars Claire Danes as a CIA officer investigating a homegrown terrorist threat.
Homeland premiered last year to rave reviews, with Danes earning a Golden Globe win for her performance. Her co-star Damian Lewis was also nominated.
The show recently was named Best Drama Series at the Critics' Choice Television Awards 2012.
Friend made his movie debut in 2004's The Libertine and has since starred in Pride & Prejudice and The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.
