Emily Blunt has said that she would like to appear in a Devil Wears Prada sequel, following in the footsteps of her former co-star Meryl Streep.
Streep said that she would consider reprising her role as Miranda Priestly, even though she'd "have to lose the ****ing weight".
Although a follow-up film has not been confirmed, Lauren Weidberger's new book, Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, is expected to be released in April next year.
Blunt said of Streep's comment to the Vogue website: "Did she actually say that. I feel the same as her and yes I think I would do it. We all were told to go on these skinny diets for the first time, but I'd be up for it."
Blunt added that the film's depiction of the fashion industry does bear a resemblance to her experiences of that world.
She explained: "There are definitely similarities. There is that ferocious, watchful nature of the industry; that catty competitiveness between people; and also those stress levels that you see in the film - they're very real in the industry too. I have a few friends who work for fashion magazines and it isn't that dissimilar.
"I went to the Met Ball with Francesco Costa from Calvin Klein last month and he was telling me how non-stop it all is. It's just collection after collection - you have to be in creative overdrive all the time. It's all so personal too, in the same way the film industry is. You have to be very thick-skinned. Films are so subjective as is fashion."
