Chris O'Dowd has been cast in a new TV comedy from This Is Spinal Tap's writer and star Christopher Guest.
The show, which is called Family Tree, will focus on a man (O'Dowd) who is searching for his long-lost relatives, reports Vulture.
Guest is developed the series with his Best in Show co-star Jim Piddock, with the intention that the show will be largely improvised.
NBC Universal International Television is currently looking for a broadcaster for the show, with HBO and Showtime both in consideration.
Bridesmaids star O'Dowd will next be seen in the Sky1 comedy Moone Boy.
