The Founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, has married his long-term girlfriend Priscilla Chan in a surprise wedding.
Mark Zuckerberg has updated his Facebook status to married. The 28-year-old multi-billionaire tied the knot at a small ceremony at his home in California infront of about 100 unsuspecting guests who thought they were coming to a party to celebrate Priscilla Chan’s graduation.
The social media tycoon announced the news via an update on his Facebook page. The message, which was accompanied by a photo of the newlyweds, reads, "Mark added a life event to May 19, 2012 on his timeline: Married Priscilla Chan."
The couple has been together for nine years after meeting at Harvard University.
A company spokeswoman said Zuckerberg designed the ring – featuring "a very simple ruby" – himself.
The news comes soon after Facebook floated on the US stock exchange on Friday) for $100 billion.
