Fresh from announcing a stellar leading line-up for an arena tour of Jesus Christ Superstar, Andrew Lloyd Webber has confirmed that Dawn French and Jason Donovan will judge his upcoming reality talent competition.

Webber will embark on a reality competition to find a male lead for the role of 'Jesus', in the upcoming tour. It's been over 40 years since the launch of the iconic rock musical and later this year, the production will visit arenas across the UK and Ireland.

In a statement, comedienne and actress French said "'I’m gagging to find Jesus with the help of the Good Lord. I have actually been searching for him my whole life, and I can’t believe that inside a few weeks we are going to find him."

"The fact that he is going to be a Rock God is a massive bonus" she added. French is best known for her leading role in the comedy series The Vicar of Dibley, as well as her sketch show with Jennifer Saunders.

Singer and actor Jason Donovan

Actor and singer Jason Donovan has said "It’s an honour to sit by Andrew on the judging panel and I can’t wait for the live shows to start". The 43-year-old recently finished third in Strictly Come Dancing.

Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden will host the television series when it airs later this summer.
