Diane Kruger and Eva Longoria fought off stiff competition on the red carpet in Cannes yesterday, but reigned victorious in two frothy concoctions.
The actresses donned high-impact evening gowns for the premiere of Moonrise Kingdom by Wes Anderson yesterday.
Style queen Kruger wore a one-shouldered mint Giambattista Valli haute couture silk gown, which featured a long swathe of floaty material and a full layered skirt.
She balanced the floatiness of the dress with a chic high bun and simple diamond accessories.

Longoria favoured a mermaid-style Marchesa dress in palest pink and silver, which fit closely at the knee, kicking out into a full, feathered skirt.
It featured intricate silver and diamante detailing and a large transparent cutaway section on the back.

Freida Pinto went for a quirkier look in a Michael Angel pastel pink strapless number, which featured a multi-coloured bodice and a thigh-high split. An unusual choice for the Slumdog Millionaire star, but it certainly worked out for her.

Jessica Chastain was the picture of simplicity in a white Alexander McQueen low-cut gown, but the frock was a little underwhelming in comparison to the other red-carpet show stoppers.

Lana Del Rey looked the picture of Hollywood glamour in a black Alberta Ferretti dress which had layers of black tulle decorating one side of the skirt. Her trademark long locks were expertly styled into cascading waves.
