Jon Hamm has been cast in the lead role in upcoming movie Million Dollar Arm.
The Mad Men star will play sports agent JB Bernstein in Disney's adaptation of a true story about the search for baseball talent in India.
The successful but disillusioned agent realised that the techniques for cricket bowling and baseball pitching were very similar, and launched the reality television show Million Dollar Arm, attracting over 40,000 contestants.
Bernstein eventually chose Dinesh Patel and Rinku Singh to join Pittsburgh Pirates, two 19-year-olds who had never left their rural Indian villages.
Mark Ciardi, Gordon Gray, Palak Patel and Joe Roth will produce the project.
Million Dollar Arm is scheduled to being shooting in the autumn.
