The Good Wife star Matt Czuchry has admitted that he feels lucky to have his role on the acclaimed US drama.
The actor, who plays former Lockhart & Gardner junior associate and now State Attorney’s office lawyer Cary Agos, said that he appreciates the opportunity to throw himself into such an interesting character.
"This role has given me a chance to show a lot of different colours. I'm always so grateful when people who are lawyers come up to me on the street and say, 'I'm a lawyer and I know somebody like you', or, 'I used to be a lawyer who was vicious like you'," he explained in an interview with Parade.
"That means that I'm doing something that's interesting and believable. I love trying to capture all of Cary's different shades of vulnerability, cockiness and ambition. You're never quite sure what his motives are."
The actor added that he is also a genuine fan of The Good Wife and admires the strong scripts produced by the writing team, led by the show's creators Robert and Michelle King.
"I love when the characters' personal and professional lives mix and you get a unique window into their worlds," he said. "I think it makes the audience feel like voyeurs.
"We're fortunate to have great writers who intertwine all these different characters' lives. It's like you're watching from the outside looking in."
