It's a time of sadness and revelations for the residents of Coronation Street next week when Betty Williams' (the late Betty Driver) son Gordon Clegg (Bill Kenwright) arrives at the Rovers to break the news that his mother has passed away.
However, the shocks do not end there.

After Betty's funeral it is discovered that the Rovers actually belonged to her - and was bequeathed to Betty by former boss Annie Walker (Doris Speed).
Gordon also hands Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) an envelope from Betty, in which another secret is revealed: the recipe for her hotpot.
